How to Clean a Diesel Filter
Cleaning the diesel filter is an important step to ensure the normal operation of the diesel engine and extend its service life. The following are detailed steps on how to clean the diesel filter:
1. Preparation
Confirm the filter type: Diesel engine filters include air filters, fuel filters and oil filters. Before cleaning, you need to confirm which type of filter to clean.
Prepare tools and materials: Prepare corresponding cleaning tools according to the filter type, such as soft brushes, clean diesel, engine oil, kerosene, etc.
2. Cleaning steps
Air filter
Remove dust once every 50-100 hours of work.
Take out the filter element, brush the dust on the surface of the filter element along the fold direction with a soft brush, and gently pat the end face to remove dust.
During installation, do not miss, reverse or wrongly install the sealing gaskets and rubber connecting pipes to ensure the tightness of each installation.
Fuel filter
Every 100-200 hours of work, clean the filter element with clean diesel and replace the engine oil in it.
If the filter element is broken, it needs to be replaced immediately.
Note that during use, add engine oil as required, because engine oil is an important grease for lubricating diesel engines and plays an irreplaceable role in ensuring the stable operation of diesel engines.
Oil filter
It should be cleaned once every 180-200 hours of work.
Use engine oil, kerosene and diesel as washing oil for cleaning.
If damage is found, it should be replaced immediately to prevent impurities from entering the lubricating surface.
3. Precautions
Use clean diesel: During the cleaning process, ensure that the diesel used is clean and meets seasonal requirements.
Follow the operating manual: When cleaning the filter, follow the instructions in the operating manual provided by the engine manufacturer.
Replace in time: If the filter is damaged or the performance decreases after cleaning, replace it with a new filter in time.
