1. Water transportation and circulation
Pumps are key equipment in the water treatment process, capable of transporting water from one place to another, such as from the raw water tank to the reaction tank, filter or reuse water tank. 2. Pressure increase and filtration
In the water treatment process, pumps are often used to increase the water level and pressure so that the water flow can overcome the height difference or be transported to the treatment unit over a long distance. For example, in the reverse osmosis (RO) system, the hydraulic pump generates high-pressure water for the reverse osmosis membrane process, forcing the water to pass through the semi-permeable membrane to separate the pure water from the impurities. Pumps are used in sludge dewatering systems, such as belt filter presses or centrifuges, to provide the pressure required for sludge dewatering and removal of excess water, thereby producing more manageable and smaller sludge for disposal.
5. Emergency Water Supply and Safety Assurance
In emergency situations, such as fires or safety accidents, pumps can provide reliable water supply to ensure the normal operation of fire protection systems or safety facilities. The necessary pressure and flow rate it provides can quickly transport water from dedicated storage tanks or external water sources to where it is needed.
