The single-stage double-suction split volute centrifugal pump, also known as a split pump or a single double-suction split pump, works mainly based on kinetic energy conversion. The following are the main features and working principles of this type of centrifugal pump:
1.Structural features:
The pump body adopts a split volute structure. This design makes it easy to repair and maintain without moving the motor and pipeline when replacing the rotor parts.
The impeller adopts a double-suction structure design, which can balance the axial force and perform static and dynamic balance according to the IS01940 standard to ensure the stability of operation.
The bearings use different lubrication methods according to the installation method of the pump (horizontal or vertical), such as grease lubrication or medium lubrication.
2.Working principle:
When the pump is started, the drive motor transmits power to the pump shaft, and the pump shaft drives the impeller to rotate.
When the impeller rotates, the liquid is thrown from the midpoint of the impeller to the outer edge due to the action of centrifugal force, and a certain vacuum is formed at the midpoint of the impeller, so that the liquid is continuously sucked in.
In the volute, the liquid slows down due to the gradual expansion of the flow channel, and part of the kinetic energy is converted into static pressure energy, and then flows into the discharge pipe at a higher pressure and transported to where it is needed.
The gap between the pump casing and the impeller is very small, ensuring that water flows from the low-pressure area to the high-pressure area, realizing continuous liquid transportation.
