Common mechanical seal materials for stainless steel pumps
When selecting mechanical seal materials for stainless steel pumps, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as the corrosiveness of the sealing medium, the operating pressure and operating temperature, and the specific conditions of the sealing surface. For example, fluororubber is usually selected for the static seal of a corrosion-resistant water pump, and polytetrafluoroethylene is selected for special cases. At the same time, the material matching of the dynamic ring and the static ring of the seal is also very important, and needs to be treated differently according to the characteristics of the medium.
Common mechanical seal materials for stainless steel pumps are mainly the following:
1. Metal materials such as Hastelloy, 1Cr18Ni9Ti, and 3Cr13: These materials are usually used for spring compensators of seals. They can resist high-temperature abrasion of the sealing surface caused by high speed and unstable sealing parameters caused by high pressure, and have good corrosion resistance.
2. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE): PTFE, as a non-metallic sealing material, has excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature stability and good mechanical properties. It can be used in various corrosive media such as strong acids and strong alkalis, and has high hardness and strength. PTFE seals are widely used in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other fields.
3. Fluororubber: Fluororubber seals have excellent oil resistance, wear resistance, acid and alkali resistance and high temperature performance, and are suitable for high-speed and high-temperature centrifugal pumps. It has excellent temperature resistance and is suitable for a variety of working environments.
4. Special ceramic materials: such as aluminum oxide special ceramics, these materials have high hardness and wear resistance, and can maintain a long service life under harsh working conditions.
