Diaphragm pump diaphragm material

15-08-2024

There are many kinds of materials for the diaphragm of diaphragm pumps, and the common ones include the following:

Chloroprene rubber (CR):

Chloroprene rubber is a synthetic rubber material with good oil resistance and corrosion resistance.

It has excellent wear resistance and elasticity, and is suitable for general industrial applications, such as chemical, petroleum, papermaking and other fields.

It is particularly suitable for the transportation of non-corrosive liquids, such as sewage treatment, tap water, seawater, etc.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE):

PTFE is a polymer material with good chemical stability and corrosion resistance.

It has excellent high temperature resistance and low friction coefficient, and is suitable for occasions where corrosive media and high temperature media are handled.

It can be used to transport highly corrosive media, such as sulfuric acid, spices, chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones and acetates.

Fluororubber (FKM):

Fluororubber is a synthetic rubber material with good chemical resistance and high temperature resistance.

It has excellent oil resistance and solvent resistance, and is suitable for occasions where the liquid contains chemicals such as acids, alkalis, solvents, etc.

It can be avoided in radiation environments, otherwise it will affect the structural strength.

Nitrile rubber (NBR):

Also known as nitrile rubber or NBR, it is a commonly used synthetic rubber material.

It has excellent oxygen resistance, ozone resistance and corrosion resistance, and is suitable for conveying petroleum and oil liquids, such as leaded gasoline, diesel, hydraulic oil, kerosene oil, etc.

It is also suitable for conveying non-corrosive and thick slurry.

EPDM:

Made of ethylene and propylene, with stable chemical properties and light raw rubber density.

It is a common industrial rubber diaphragm with properties such as ozone resistance, UV resistance, aging resistance, and oxidation resistance.

When transporting chemical liquids, it can withstand weak acids, alkalis, alcohols, ketones, and radiation.

Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP):

It is a material with excellent corrosion resistance and flexibility, and the price is relatively high.

It is suitable for conveying low-temperature corrosive media, such as reaction media in certain chemical reactions.

Because its flexibility is better than that of polytetrafluoroethylene, it is more suitable for corrosive media with lower temperatures.

Santoprene:

It is a material suitable for acidic or alkaline corrosive media, such as sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid.

It is comparable to chloroprene rubber in terms of cost performance, but has better wear resistance and durability.

Polyester diaphragm:

It is a material with lower price and higher strength, suitable for conveying medium-concentration acid and alkali liquids, food, etc.

But its corrosion resistance is poor, and it is not suitable for conveying strong acid and alkali media and high-temperature media.
