How to improve the suction lift of self-priming pump
There are many ways to improve the suction range of a self-priming pump. Here are some effective methods:
1. Optimize the design and selection of the pump
Choose a high suction range self-priming pump: Directly select a self-priming pump product with a higher suction range, such as a large-flow self-priming pump. Under normal circumstances, this type of pump can reach a self-priming height of 7-9 meters.
Consider the cavitation margin of the pump: When selecting a pump, pay attention to its cavitation margin, because the calculation of the suction range is closely related to the cavitation margin. A smaller cavitation margin helps to increase the suction range.
2. Improve installation and configuration
Install a bottom valve: Install a bottom valve at the suction port under the water pool of the inlet pipe of the self-priming sewage pump to prevent the water in the suction pipe from flowing back, thereby increasing the suction range of the self-priming pump. This measure can usually increase the suction range by about 1 meter.
Reduce elbows: Reduce the number of elbows on the inlet pipe of the self-priming pump, because each elbow will lose a certain amount of suction range, about 1 meter. Therefore, try to keep the pipeline straight and reduce unnecessary elbows.
Adjust the pipe diameter: Slightly reducing the diameter of the self-priming pump inlet pipe can reduce the amount of air in the pipe, thereby improving the water absorption effect. However, it should be noted that the outlet cannot be installed with a larger configuration than the inlet, otherwise it will result in the result of not being able to absorb water.
3. Improve the working environment and conditions
Increase the liquid temperature: For volatile or high-viscosity liquids, appropriately increasing the liquid temperature can reduce its viscosity and volatility, thereby increasing the suction range of the self-priming pump. However, it should be noted that the temperature should not be too high to avoid damaging the pump body or affecting the properties of the liquid.
Reduce the installation height of the pump: When possible, reducing the installation height of the self-priming pump can reduce the vertical distance between the pump inlet and the liquid surface, thereby increasing the suction range. However, this method is limited by actual working conditions and installation conditions.
4. Maintenance and care
Regular maintenance: Regularly maintain and care for the self-priming pump to ensure that it is in good working condition. For example, clean impurities and dirt inside the pump body, check the integrity of the seal, etc.
Replace worn parts: For severely worn parts, such as impellers, bearings, etc., they should be replaced in time to ensure the performance and efficiency of the pump.
