How to select a chemical pump for hydrofluoric acid delivery pump
The selection of hydrofluoric acid delivery pump is an important task in the selection of chemical pumps. Since hydrofluoric acid is extremely corrosive, special attention must be paid when selecting it. The following are the main considerations and suggestions for the selection of hydrofluoric acid delivery pumps:
1. Corrosion resistance
Hydrofluoric acid can strongly corrode metals, glass and silicon-containing objects, so the material of the delivery pump must have extremely strong corrosion resistance. Common corrosion-resistant materials include fluoroplastics (such as polytetrafluoroethylene PTFE, fluororubber, etc.) and high-alloy stainless steel. Fluoroplastics have become the preferred material for conveying hydrofluoric acid due to their excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Although high-alloy stainless steel also has certain corrosion resistance, it may still be corroded in hydrofluoric acid of certain concentrations and temperatures.
2. Flow rate and head
Select a pump with appropriate flow rate and head according to the actual amount of hydrofluoric acid to be transported and the height of the delivery. The flow rate is usually measured in cubic meters per hour or gallons per minute, and the head is measured in meters. Ensure that the flow rate and head of the selected pump can meet the actual needs, while avoiding unnecessary waste or insufficiency caused by being too large or too small.
3. Pump type and structure
The type and structure of the hydrofluoric acid delivery pump should be selected according to the specific working conditions. Common types of chemical pumps include centrifugal pumps, magnetic pumps, etc. For highly corrosive media such as hydrofluoric acid, it is recommended to use fluoroplastic magnetic pumps or fluoroplastic centrifugal pumps. These pumps use magnetic drive or impellers and pump bodies made of special materials, which can effectively prevent medium leakage and corrosion of the pump body.
4. Other considerations
Sealing performance: Ensure that the pump has good sealing performance to prevent hydrofluoric acid leakage from damaging the environment and equipment.
Motor type: Select the appropriate motor type according to actual needs, such as DC motor or AC motor. DC motors have speed regulation function and are suitable for occasions requiring stable flow; AC motors have higher efficiency and reliability.
Protection level: For some special use environments, such as outdoor and humid, it is necessary to select a water pump with a higher protection level to ensure the safety and stable operation of the equipment.
