I. General requirements

Fire separation: Fireproof walls of not less than 2.00h and non-combustible floor separations of 1.50h should be set to ensure that the fire can be effectively prevented from spreading when a fire occurs.
II. Location and layout
Floor selection: The pump room should be located on the first floor. If there are difficulties, it can be located on the first underground floor, and as close to the outer wall as possible to facilitate ventilation and heat dissipation. If it is located on the first underground floor and the top plate is an outdoor place and is convenient for ventilation and heat dissipation, it can also be not close to the outer wall. However, it is not recommended to set up the diesel engine fire pump room of an independent building on the second underground floor.
Layout principle: The water flow in the pump room should be smooth, the pipeline should be short and straight, easy to connect, and compactly arranged to reduce the plane size of the pump room and reduce the construction cost. At the same time, the needs of expansion and subsequent development should be taken into account.
3. Environmental conditions
Cleanliness and dryness: The pump room should be kept clean and dry to avoid excessive dust and corrosive gases. The room temperature should be controlled at 0-40℃ and the relative humidity should not exceed 80% to ensure the normal operation of the diesel engine.
Ventilation and smoke exhaust: The pump room should be equipped with ventilation, smoke exhaust and fire-blocking facilities that meet the operation of the diesel engine. The ventilation system should ensure air circulation in the pump room to avoid the accumulation of diesel engine exhaust. The smoke exhaust system should quickly remove smoke in the event of a fire to ensure the safety of personnel.
Noise and vibration: The diesel engine water pump will generate certain noise and vibration during operation. Therefore, noise isolation measures should be set up in the pump room, such as the use of inert foundations, to reduce the impact on the surrounding environment. At the same time, the water pump unit should be set on an independent foundation and should not be connected to the building foundation to avoid the spread of noise and vibration.
4. Safety and protection
Fire prevention and explosion prevention: The pump room should be equipped with corresponding fire-fighting facilities, such as fire extinguishers, to deal with emergencies such as fires. 5. Other requirements
Drainage facilities: Drainage facilities should be installed in the pump room to ensure that the accumulated water can be quickly removed in extreme weather such as heavy rain.
Light and lighting: Good light and lighting conditions should be maintained in the pump room to facilitate daily inspections and maintenance work.
Maintenance space: Sufficient maintenance space should be left in the pump room to facilitate the inspection and replacement of the water pump unit. For large water pump units, lifting equipment should also be set up to facilitate lifting.
