Reasons and solutions for single screw pump not being able to suck liquid
As an important industrial pump, single screw pumps are widely used in various liquid transportation situations. However, during use, the problem of not being able to absorb liquid sometimes occurs, which seriously affects work efficiency。The reasons and solutions for the single screw pump not being able to absorb liquid are:
1. Due to leakage in the suction pipe or shaft seal, air will be sucked into the single screw pump, so that the single screw pump will be in a state of sucking air. Negative pressure cannot be formed in the inlet pipe, so the screw pump cannot suck liquid. The treatment method is to check and repair the pipeline, remove debris, adjust and replace the shaft seal.
2. Reverse rotation of the single screw pump motor will also cause the screw pump to be unable to absorb liquid. Just adjust the polarity connector of the motor.
3. The pumped slurry is too dry, or operating in a semi-dry state is also the reason why the screw pump cannot absorb liquid. In this case, you can only dilute or add sufficient slurry to the feed port.
4. If the viscosity of the liquid being transported is too high, the screw pump will not be able to absorb the liquid. If the viscosity of the liquid is too high, you can only reduce the speed of the screw pump and then increase the temperature of the liquid to reduce the viscosity or use a vertical screw pump. .
5. If the single screw pump cannot absorb liquid after being used for a period of time, it is likely that the stator and rotor are damaged. Just check and replace the stator or rotor with a new one.
6. The valves on the inlet and outlet pipes are not opened or are not open enough. Just open the inlet and outlet valves.
7. The packing seal of the single screw pump may be worn, and the mechanical sealing screw pump may have the mechanical sealing surface damaged or worn. Tighten or replace the packing. If the mechanical seal is damaged, replace it with a new mechanical seal.
