The harm of magnetic pump idling
There are many hazards of magnetic pump idling. When using a magnetic pump, it is important to avoid idling, which is mainly manifested in the following aspects:
1. Rapid temperature rise: Like pipeline pumps, magnetic pumps use flowing liquid to achieve cooling and lubrication. When idling, the temperature in the pump cavity will rise rapidly due to the lack of cooling medium. Most models of magnetic pumps clearly stipulate that the motor temperature rise shall not exceed 75°C. If it is not stopped in time, it will cause the pump to burn out.
2. Motor burnout and demagnetization: As the temperature exceeds the rated standard, the motor may burn out, and the internal and external magnetic steel may lose its magnetism. This damage is very serious for magnetic pumps, because the performance of the magnetic pump will be greatly reduced after demagnetization.
3. Bearing damage: Magnetic pump idling will cause the bearing to heat up and expand, causing the shaft to stick, further damaging the pump.
4. Damage to other components: Idling will also cause damage to multiple components such as the pump body, static ring, impeller, isolation sleeve, pump shaft, thrust ring, and sealing ring.
5. Cavitation phenomenon: There is a lot of gas in the idling water pump, which can easily cause cavitation and damage the water pump body and flow parts.
6. Seal failure: Idling causes the water pump mechanical seal or packing seal to not get liquid lubrication, and dry grinding causes the water pump to be damaged quickly.

When selecting the pump, consider the temperature changes in the pump environment. If there is a need for high temperature resistance, you can contact the manufacturer to customize the pump body.
Regularly maintain and service the magnetic pump, check the wear of each component, and focus on the condition of the internal bearing and end face moving ring.
After the magnetic pump has been used for more than one thousand hours, perform a routine inspection.
