Working principle of corrosion resistant self-priming pump

22-08-2024

The working principle of the corrosion-resistant self-priming pump mainly involves the special design of the internal structure of the pump body and the principle of fluid mechanics. Its working process can be described in detail as follows:

1. Realization of self-priming function

The self-priming function of the corrosion-resistant self-priming pump is realized by the design of the internal cavity of the pump body. When the pressure of the internal cavity of the pump body is lower than the atmospheric pressure, the liquid in the pump body will be automatically sucked into the pump body. This design makes it unnecessary to manually fill the pump with water before starting, and it is only necessary to ensure that there is a certain amount of liquid in the pump body.

2. The role of the rotor and the impeller

Rotor action: The rotor of the corrosion-resistant self-priming pump is driven by the motor. When the motor starts, the driving rotor starts to rotate. Due to the design of the rotor, the liquid in the pump body will be forced to move forward to form a flow.

Impeller action: After the pump starts normally, the impeller sucks in the liquid stored in the suction chamber and the air in the suction pipeline together, and they are completely mixed in the impeller. Under the action of centrifugal force, the liquid carries the gas to the outer edge of the volute, forming a white foam belt of a certain thickness and a high-speed rotating liquid ring.

3. Gas-liquid separation and circulation

The gas-liquid mixture enters the gas-liquid separation chamber through the diffusion tube. At this time, due to the sudden decrease in flow rate, the lighter gas is separated from the mixed gas and liquid, and the gas continues to rise and discharge through the pump body outlet. The degassed liquid returns to the liquid storage chamber and enters the impeller again through the reflux hole, and mixes again with the gas sucked from the suction pipe inside the impeller. This process is repeated, and the air in the suction pipe continues to decrease until the gas is completely sucked out and the self-priming process is completed.

4. Other auxiliary mechanisms

Conical nozzle effect: The corrosion-resistant self-priming pump is equipped with a set of conical nozzles inside the pump body. These nozzles can cause the liquid in the pump body to rotate at a high speed, thereby increasing the inlet and outlet pressure of the liquid, which helps the suction and discharge of the liquid.

Static liquid column effect: The design inside the pump can also use the gravity of the liquid itself to form a static liquid column effect. This effect can help the liquid in the pump body to be better sucked in and transported.
